Michael Atkinson is a contemporary watercolorist and figurative bronze sculptor. He is widely known for his very contemporary watercolors depicting Western and Southwestern scenes and architectural subjects. With Atkinson’s training in architecture, sculpting was a natural progression. He prefers to sculpt the human form, frequently nude, of both male and female, athletic in character. He has a keen eye for proportion and human anatomy, creating very life-like sculptures. His sculptures, frequently referred to as statues, range from table top to life size for indoor or outdoor placement. The original sculptures are done in clay, then cast into bronze producing the finished limited edition art piece.
